教育: 过时, University of British Columbia, 2010; MMOR, University of British Columbia, 2012; PhD, University of California-Berkeley, 2016; MSc (Machine Learning), Georgia Institute of Technology, 2018; MSc (Big Data), Simon Fraser University, 2018. 自2019年起在SPU工作.

After completing a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering and Master of Management in Operations Research from University of British Columbia, Dr. 陈开始攻读博士学位.D. in Quantitative Marketing at UC Berkeley (Haas). He has worked as a Senior Data Scientist (LoyaltyOne/Alliance Data), Postdoctoral Research & Teaching Fellow (UBC), and Machine Learning and Operations Research Industry Project Advisor (UBC). To be equipped with more skills for data analytics and the technology industry in general, he enrolled in two Master of Computer Science degrees at Georgia Institute of Technology and Simon Fraser University, one specializing in machine learning and the other in big data. 

To keep up to date with industry needs, Dr. Chen holds professional certifications such as Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Six Sigma Certification, Certified Supply Chain Specialist (CSCS), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Digital Marketing Certificates (Google Analytics, Microsoft Bing Ads Accredited Professional Certification), MCSA, MCSE, 和CCNP. 

Dr. Chen's research interests are broad and cover the following areas: Business Analytics, 数据分析, 营销策略, Consumer Decision Making, Digital and Social Media Marketing, 零售竞争, 医疗管理, and Operations Management. His research methods include 统计数据, 运筹学, econometrics and most recently machine learning and big data.  

Dr. Chen's teaching philosophy is to connect class material to real-life applications and help students succeed in their careers. He has also provided career advice for students outside class with his experience in industry, graduate school applications, 找工作, 职业规划.
