数学的位置

If you enter 西雅图 Pacific without transferred college credit (or credit awarded for AP, 剑桥国际, IB, or CLEP exams) to fulfill the 研究性课程 Ways of Knowing in Quantitative Reasoning (WKQR) requirement, you will place into one or more of the following mathematics courses: 

• 垫0144, 0145, 1110, 1221, 1234, 1300, 1521, 1560, 2360, or 2700 
• 汽车2700年 
• CSC 1521 
• EDU 2600 
• 2360 
• SOC 2360 

Appropriate placement in mathematics courses depends upon your intended major, 以及资格标准. 资格 can be demonstrated through an SAT or ACT math score, 通过智能平衡测试分数, the Washington state General 数学的位置 Test (MPT-G), 或者转学大学课程. Other departments may also require one of the 数学的位置 Levels listed below as a prerequisite for courses in their major.

安置水平为0 (i).e., zero) indicates one of two things: The student has not yet taken the MPT-G, or the student does not meet any of the criteria for 数学先修课程A级 and should begin by enrolling in 垫0144.

数学先修课程A级

有资格参加垫0145, 垫1521, 垫1560, 或CSC 1521, you must meet at least one of the following criteria: 

• 600分或以上 on the math portion of an SAT exam taken spring 2016 or later.
• 580分或以上 on the math portion of an SAT exam taken before spring 2016. 
• 25分或以上 ACT考试的数学部分.
  
• 得分3或4 on the math portion of the Smarter Balanced assessment and successfully complete an appropriate math course in 12th grade (HS graduation year 2016-2018.)
  
• 分数145分或以上 on the MPT-G (the Washington state General 数学的位置 Test). 
• 完成垫0144 成绩在C或C以上, OR complete an approved course in intermediate algebra at another college or university 成绩在C或C以上.

• 580分或以上 on the math portion of an SAT exam taken before spring 2016.

数学预修C级

To be eligible to enroll in MAT 1221 or MAT 1234, you must achieve a passing score on the SPU’s online Calculus Placement Test before registering for the course. 

• 如果你打算参加MAT 1234， but did not achieve a passing score on the test, you must first complete 垫1110 and receive a grade of C- or better. 
• 如果你打算参加MAT 1221， but did not achieve a passing score on the test, you must first complete MAT 1010 and receive a grade of C- or better.

大学预备数学

的课程, 垫0144 “大学 Readiness Mathematics I” and 垫0145 “大学 Readiness Mathematics II,” are designed for students who do not have adequate mathematical backgrounds to succeed in college-水平 coursework in mathematics. 

If you need to take a course with prerequisites of 数学先修课程A级, you will need to take 垫0144 if you do not meet any of the other conditions listed. If you need to take courses with prerequisites of 数学安置水平B, you may need to take both 垫0144 and 0145. 

The three 数学的位置 水平s are summarized in the table below. To be eligible to enroll in a course listed at a particular placement 水平 in the following table, you must meet at least one of the criteria in the corresponding row.

* A grade of C- or better is required in prerequisite coursework. 课程可以转学.

** Students planning to take MAT 1221或1234 must achieve a passing score on the online Calculus Placement Test before registering for the course.
